GOVERNOR WIKE SAYS NO TO ABANDON PROJECTS

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike says his administration will not abandon any project awarded by it, as it makes funds available before awarding project.
Governor Wike made the remark during the inspection of the Junior Doctors’ Residential Quarters and the Real Madrid Football Academy in Port Harcourt.
The State Chief executive said he had continued to fulfil the promise of executing quality projects in every sector and the reconstruction of the Junior Doctors Quarters is one of such projects.
According to him, when completed the Forty-Six One-Bedroom flats for the Junior Doctors will enhance the productivity of Doctors and strengthen the health sector.
He expressed delight at the quality of work at the Real Madrid Football Academy, noting that academics and sports training cannot begin at the academy because the Federal Government has not directed reopening of schools due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Governor Wike said Seventy percent admission in the academy would be for Rivers indigenes while thirty percent would be for outsiders and directed the Special Adviser on Real Madrid Football Academy to commence screening of applicants in preparation for school opening.
In his speech, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Real Madrid Football Academy, Christopher Green said about a thousand applications had been received from across the world and Spain.
He assured that with the directive given by the Governor, motion would be put in place to screen the applications and prepare the successful applicants for resumption of activities at the academy.
Elders Statesman, Chief Sergent Awuse described the work at the Real Madrid Football Academy as a fantastic concept well executed, emphasizing that Governor Wike has continued to build enduring structure for posterity.
Also speaking, Former Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly, Chidi Lloyd said Governor Wike is strengthening institutions with his deliberate distribution of projects among sectors.
