GOVERNOR WIKE PRE-SEASON FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2020 FINAL

The Rivers State Governor Chief Nyesom Wike has described investment in the sports as investment in t6he youths and the future of society.
Governor Wike stated this while speaking as Special Guest of Honour at the presentation of prizes at thejust concluded Second Edition of Governor Wike Pre-Season Football Tournament at the Sharks Stadium, Port Harcout.
Governor Wike who wasw represented by the State PDP Chairman Ambassador Desmond Akawo further descried investment in sport particularly the game of football as a worthwhile venture designed to enable youths exibit their potentials and contribute meaningfully to cocietal growth.
According to him, the establishment of the Real Madid academy in the State is an eloquent testimony of the premium Wike led-administration attaches to the development of the potentials of nigeria youths and Rivers Youths in particular and urged the people of the state to support the present administration in the task of producing a viril society.
He extolled the qyality of football, officiating and organization of the tournament. Earlier, the State Commissioner for sports, Boma Iyaye had said that the Tournament was organized to prepare the State Football Team, Rivers United for its continental campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup and thanked all partcipating teams for the peaceful conduct throughout the Tournament.
