WORLD TOILET DAY

As the world marks world today, the Rivers State Government has called on residents of the State to collaborate with government in the fight against open defecation in the State.

Rivers State Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, Dr Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja who made the call in a message to mark the 2020 World Toilet Day celebration in Port Harcourt said the new Rivers vision is working assiduously in ensuring the provision of portable water for residents of the State.

He advised residents of the state to practice safe toilet system and appealed to property developers to adopt the septic tank sysytem rather than sucker away with a view not to conterminate drinking water in the State.

The State Water Resources and Rural Development Commissioner emphasized that the recent signed contract for the rehabilitation, was an attestation of Governor Wike’s commitment in providing portable water for the people of the State.
