GUNMEN KILL FIVE WORSHIPPERS, ADDUCT EIGHTEEN OTHERS INCLUDING IMAM IN ZAMFARA STATE.

Gunmen have killed five worshippers and kidnapped eighteen others in an attack on a mosque in Zamfara state.

Speaking to newsmen on the the development, the Police Spokesman of Zamfara State Command, Mr Mohammed Shehu said the bandits killed five worshippers and kidnapped eighteen other persons including the Imam.

According to him, about one hundred cattle thieves on Motocycles opened fire on a Muslim congregation in remote Dutsen Gari Village in Maru District as residents were observing prayers.

Residence and Local Media Towncrier said more than thirty worshippers were abducted.

They said the gunmen attacked the mosque while the Imam was delivering the sermon and took away more after shooting dead five others.
