THE CHAIRMAN OF UBE BOARD HAS DIRECTED ALL SUPERVISING DIRECTORS, FACILITATORS AND COORDINATORS IN THE 23 LGA TO RESUME CLASSES.

The chairman, Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board, Venerable Fyneface Akah, has again directed all Supervising Directors, facilitators and coordinators of Non-formal educational Centres used for better Education Service Delivery for all (BESDA) in the 23 LGA to resume classes.

Accordingly, parents and guardians have been advised to release all out-of-school children in their care to BESDA Centres nearest to them for lessons.

Venerable Akah who was speaking in an interview with our reporter Baridorn Sika at the UBE Board headquarters in Port Harcourt explained that better Education Service Delivery for all BESDA initiative was a world Bank Federal Government Assisted Programme aimed at mopping up over thirteen million out-of-school children in Nigeria out of which more than one hundred and ten thousand of them are in Rivers State.

He reiterated the commitment of Governor Wike led administation in partnership with World Bank Federal Government to reduce the number of out-of-school children in the state.

The educationist tasked food vendors providing meal for the learners to resume operations immediately while assuring teachers of their financial benefits as at when due.

He further disclosed that officials of the Federal Government are already in the state and called for the support of critical stakeholders to ensure success.
