OPOBO KINGDOM CELEBRATES HER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY YEARS WITH A BOOK TITLED LUNCH.

As the people of opobo Kingdom begin the celebraton to mark hundred and fifty years of its founding, a book tittled ”Opobo Kingdom one hundred and fifty years after social-economic Dynamic for New Horizon”, written by Celestine Ogolo, a Director in the Rivers State Ministry of Information and Communication would be presented to the public today.

A statement by the organizers of the presentation ceremony, disclosed that the Book is primarily a discourse of the development challenges of the Ancient Kingdom, since the period of the King Jaja up to the present day and eforts at changing the narrative, with the aim of making Opobo model for Community development.

The statement said the public presentation will take place at the Nigerian Bar Association Hall, along Bank Road, Port Harcourt with Alabo Adawari Micheal Pepple as the Chairman while the Former Governor of the State, Sir Celestine Omehia will serve as a Special Quest of Honour.

Others expected at the event include member representing Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro Federal constituency, Mr. Abiante Inombek as Guest of Honour, the State Commissioner of Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, special guest among others.

The statement added that as part of presentation of the book, a lecture titled Opobo kingdom in the next half of a century would be delivered by the Chairman of Opobo Titled Holders Association, Amaopusenibo Bobo Sofri Brown, thereafter, a former Dean of Faculty of Science Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Port Harcourt, professor Alafure Epelle would review the book while the Amayanabo of Opobo Kindgom and Chairman, Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, King Dandeson Douglas Jaja will be the Royal father of the day, appealing for invited Guest and the public to attend.
