Boko Haram jihadists killed seven people on a Christmas Eve, assault on a village in Nigeria’s restive northeast.

Security agencies had in recent days warned of an increased risk of attack during the Christian Holiday.

Report says fighters in trucks and motorcycles stormed pemi, a predominantly Christian village in Borno state shooting indiscriminately and setting buildings on fire.

The terrorist killed seven people burnt ten houses and looted food supplies that were meant for distribution to residents to celebrate Christmas.

According to a community leader, Ayuba Alamson, dead bodies were found in the community noting that the toll could rise as villagers fled into the bush during the attack and some people are still unaccounted for.

The village is located only twenty kilometers, about twelve miles from Chibok where Boko Haram kidnapped more than two hundred schoolgirls six years ago.
