UNITED NIGERIA CHAPLAINCY, A NON-GOVERMENTAL ORGANISATION CALLS ON BUHARI TO REVIEW HIS CABINET APPOINTMENT

A Non-governmental Organisation, United Nigeria Chaplaincy has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to review his cabinet appointment to reflect Federal Character in the interest of peace and unity of the country.

The International Commandant General of Chaplains, Professor Jidejisos Josiah Ejie who made the call during this year’s International Peace Conference in Port Harcourt, said the appointments, especially Service Chiefs should not be one-sided but should represent all tribes of the country.

Professor Ejie stated that the United Nigeria Chaplaincy was inaugurated by former President Goodluck Jonathan to foster peace and tranquility in Nigeria, pointing out that the Association has been working strategically in every state of the federation to fulfill its mandate by creating and making peace amongst Nigerians.

He described the theme of this year’s Peace Conference “Give Peace a Chance” as appropriate and appealed to Nigerians, particularly leaders of the various religions and political affiliations to give peace a chance and work in unity for the development of the country.

Earlier, in his address, Rivers State Commandant, United Nigeria Chaplaincy, Cardinal Joseph Dominion opined that the organization was established with the purpose of promoting peace and justice within Nigerian and the world, drawing attention to insecurity, conflict which contravened natural and international acceptable standard of human behavior.

Cardinal Dominion who urged Nigerians to avoid actions that would threaten security and livelihood as a nation appealed to the APC- led Federal Government to prioritize the wellbeing of Nigerian youths to avoid agitation and protest in the country.
