RESIDENTS OF RIVERS STATE REACT TO THE DISBURSEMENT OF 554 BILLION NAIRA TO 2,000,000 COMMERCIAL FARMERS FOR 5 YEARS

Residents of Rivers State have reacted to the disbursement of five hundred and fifty four billion Naira to two million commercial farmers in the Agricultural Scheme for five years from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The respondents stated that the disbursement of five hundred and fifty four billion Naira would boost agricultural activities and food sufficiency in the Country.

They however appealed to the Federal Government to provide adequate security in the Western and Northern parts of the Country to stem the tide of incessant herdsmen attacks on farmers.

They further appealed to the government to save the lives of the farmers and their crops, to avoid scarcity of food and high cost of food items among others in the country.
