PDP PREPARE AHEAD OF THE APRIL 17TH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA ELECTION

PDP in Rivers State has held its Chairmanship Primaries across the Twenty-three Local Government Areas in the State, ahead of the April 17^th Local Government Area election.

Reports indicate that all Chairmanship aspirants were returned unopposed due to a consensus arrangement reached with stakeholders.

However eight incumbent Chairmen were re-elected while fifteen are new.

In Ikwerre LGA, Samuel Nwanosike the incumbent was returned.

In his remark Samuel Nwanosike thanked the people for the mandate and promised to consolidate on his five point agenda.

Also in Andoni LGA, Erastus Awortu was screened and emerged as the sole candidate of the party while in Akuku-Toru LGA Roland Sekibo emerged as the candidate of PDP.           The speaker of the State Assembly Ikuyi Owaji Ibani expressed hope that the candidature of Erastus Awortu will ensure peace, unity and progress amongst the people of Andoni LGA.
