PDP RIVERS STATE HELD ITS CHAIRMANSHIP PRIMARY ACROSS THE 23 LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA AHEAD OF THE APRIL 17 LGA ELECTION

PDP in Rivers State has held its Chairmanship Primaries across the Twenty-three Local Government Areas of the State, ahead of the April 17 Local Government Area election.

Report indicates that all Chairmanship aspirants were returned unopposed due to a consensus arrangement reached with stakeholders.

However, eight incumbent Chairmen were re-elected while fifteen are new.

In Ikwerre LGA, Samuel Nwanosike the incumbent was returned.

In his remarks Samuel Nwanosike thanked the people for the mandate given him and promised to consolidate on his five-point agenda.

Also in Andoni LGA, Erastus Awortu emerged the sole candidate of the party while in Akuku-Toru LGA Roland Sekibo emerged as the candidate of PDP.

The Speaker of the State Assembly Ikuyi Owaji Ibani expressed hope that the candidature of Erastus Awortu would ensure peace, unity and progress amongst the people of Andoni LGA.
