NAWOJ REAFFIRMS ITS COMMITMENT TO UPHOLD THE CORE VALUE AND OBJECTIVES OF NAWOJ

The State Executive of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, has reaffirmed its commitment to uphold the core values and objectives of NAWOJ which centre mainly on accountability, welfare of members and advocacy for female Journalists.

The Chairperson of the Rivers State Chapter of NAWOJ, Susan Serekara Nwikhana dropped the hint while speaking in a telephone chat with our reporter.

Mrs Serekara Nwikhana assured that the new executive of NAWOJ would leave no stone unturned to recover the parcel of land donated to NAWOJ by Eze Ogba, Oba of Ogbaland, Eze Chukwumela Nnam Obi the second, stating that when recovered the land could be used to build ICT Centre and house NAWOJ Secretariat.

She said NAWOJ would continue to frown at obnoxious harmful traditional practices such as female genital mutilation and all forms of gender-based violence.

According to Mrs Serekara Nwikhana, NAWOJ will collaborate with the International Association of Female Lawyers, FIDA, to prosecute culprits involved in all forms of evil practices against the female folks, especially the girl child.
