FERDERAL GOVERNMENT DISBURSES TWENTY MILLION NAIRA IN CASH GRANT TO RURAL WOMEN IN ABIA STATE.

The Federal Government has disbursed twenty million Naira in cash grants to rural women in Abia rural area, each recipient getting twenty thousand Naira flagging of the disbursement the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Alhaji Bashir Nura Alkali who represented the Minister, Hajia Sadiya Umar Farouq said the Federal Government’s various intervention programmes have impacted positively on the poor across the Country.

The Permanent Secretary said the sum of twenty million Naira would be disbursed to about twenty five thousand rural women drawn from across the seventeen local government areas of the state, pointing out that the money would help in bettering the lives of the recipients.

He said the money should not be seen as the sharing of the so-called national cake, should be put to proper use to lift the beneficiaries out of poverty.

Abia State Deputy Governor, Ude Oko Chukwu, representing Governor Okezie Ikpeazu expressed joy that the cash grants which is part of the Federal Initiatives to aid rural women had taken off in the State.
