The Chairman, Rivers State Universal Education Board Venerable Fyneface Akah says the board is open to partnership with religious organizations in the task of providing conducive environment for teaching and learning in the UBE subsector.
Venerable Akah stated this while receiving one hundred school desks and doors donated to the PHC Primary School in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area by Christ Embassy Church.
Venerable Fyneface Akah who was represented by the Commissioner in Charge of Administration in the Board, Chief Faith Amaso said the gesture would assist in addressing shortage of basic school effects and infrasture.
The board, however, appealed to other well-meaning Nigerians and religious organization wishing to make similar donation to liaise with the Depart of Physical Planning to ensure that items are assistant with standard.
Presenting the School Desks to Port Harcourt Primary School, Pastor Linda Okocha of Christ Embassy Church, Port Harcourt Zone Two represented by Pastor Okonicha Michael said the donation was informed by the need to support government in addressing societal needs.
In their separate remarks the head teacher of the school Mrs. Dumeza Lennards pledged the preparedness off school to use materials in the interest of learners while the Director Social Mobilization UBE Board who is also an old boy of the school extolled the sterling example of the Church for the donation explaining collaboration is strategic to efficient management of school.
