BILL SEEKING ESTABLISHMENT OF BITUMEN TRAINING INSTITUTE IN ONDO STATE PASSES FIRST READING AT THE RED CHAMBER.

The Senate on Wednesday, started a legislative process that would lead to the establishment of a Bitumen Training Institute, Ode Aye in Ondo State.
The bill for the establishment of the institute sponsored by the Senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District, Nicholas Tofowomo, has passed first reading.
According to Tofowomo, Ondo South has the largest bitumen deposit in Nigeria and the second largest in the world, emphasizing that there is need to establish a Mining Institute that will lead to the massive exploration of the mineral resources.
He pointed out that the Institute would bring all the parties together, including experts from abroad to explore bitumen in Nigeria to add value to the economy.
