RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT SAYS IT WILL CONTINUE TO PROVIDE WORLD CLASS HEALTH FACILITIES IN THE STATE.

Rivers State Government says it will continue to provide World Class health facilities as well as an enabling environment to mitigate the prevalent rate of malaria especially among pregnant women in the state.

The State Manager, Malaria Elimination Programme, Doctor Mina Jaja who stated this in an interview with Radio Rivers Correspondent Francis Golden shortly after the 2021 World Malaria Day Planning meeting in Port Harcourt also urged pregnant women to register for antenatal as they were vulnerable to malaria.

Doctor Jaja emphasized that the eleven percent pre-valence rate of malaria recorded in Rivers State was as a result of the infrastructural achievement in the health sector and the premium attached to the health of Rivers residents by the Governor Nyesom Wike led administration.

The State Malaria Elimination Programme Manager disclosed that the forthcoming World Malaria Day with the theme: “Zero Malaria Draw The Line against Malaria, will be celebrated in adherent to covid-19 pandemic.

Doctor Jaja however, appealed to residents of the State to support the State Government to stamp out malaria in the state for the benefit of the health standard of the people.
