GOVERNOR WIKE REAFFIRMS THE STATE GOVERNMENT’S COMMITMENT TO SUPPORT THE POLICE AND OTHER SECURITY AGENCIES IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CRIMINALITY IN THE STATE.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to support the Police and other security agencies in the fight against criminality in the State.

Governor Wike stated this in his goodwill message during the launch of Operation Restore Peace, South-South Zone in Port Harcourt by the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali-Baba.

The Governor who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr Ipalibo Harry Banigo said that peace and development were the ingredients of democracy and would not be compromised on the altar of insecurity.

In his speech, the IGP, Usman Alkai Baba charged officers and men of the Nigeria Police to go all out for the criminals that were killing and maiming the Police and other citizens.

Alkali-Baba explained that Operation Restore Peace initiative aimed at collaborating with other security agencies to restore peace and stability in the Niger Delta, including the entire South-East and advised Police Officers to be professional in the discharge of their duty.
