SOUTH WEST ZONE CONSTITUTION REVIEW PARTICIPANT PROPOSES A NEW NAME FOR NIGERIA.

The House of Representatives Special Committee on Constitution Review has received a proposal to change Nigeria’s name to United African Republic.
The proposal was made to the South West Zone of the Constitution Review Committee during its Public hearing in Lagos by a tax consultant, Adeleye Jokotoye .
While presenting the proposal, Jokotoye said Nigeria’s current name was an imposition of its past Colonial Masters and should be changed, stressing that a change of name for the Country will physically and psychologically reflect a new beginning .
Explaining why he chose United African Republic, Jokotoye said Nigeria was made up of hundreds of ethnic groups that needed to be United.
