CHIEF CHRISTOPHER ISIGUZO CALLS ON THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO REVERSE THE BAN ON TWITTER OPERATION IN NIGERIA.

The National President of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Chief Christopher Isiguzo has called on the Federal Government to reverse the ban on Twitter operation in Nigeria .
Chief Isiguzo stated this while speaking as quest on Radio Rivers weekly current affairs programme spotlight on Sunday, 6th June, 2021.
He said the ban was averse to democratic practice because as he put it democracy promotes, free speech.
The NUJ national President, however, stated that Twitter made the first mistake by deleting the tweet of the President, saying that the Logo of Twitter organization was symbolized by a bird to deliver a message and deleting the President’s tweet was against its own principle.
Chief Isiguzo noted that because two wrongs do not justify a mistake, the Federal government should not have ban twitter operation in Nigeria.
Answering question, the National President of the NUJ reaffirmed the commitment of the Union to serve as the last hope of the Common man by serving as the voice of the voiceless and ordinary Citizens of Nigeria.
He commended Rivers State Government for its developmental strides describing the State as one of the safest in the Country pointing out that Governor Wike would be inducted into NUJ integrity Hall of Fame during the three Day conference in Port-Harcourt.
Also speaking, another guest on the programme Doctor Nwisuator David-Sarogoro, Head of Department of Forestry and Environment, Faculty of Agriculture Rivers State University called on the state government to remove the department of Forestry and Environment from Ministry of Agriculture and place it in Ministry of Environment for effective performance.
Doctor David Osarogoro appealed for the regular planting of trees as part of efforts to restore the eco-system.
