RIVERS STATE COMMISSIONER OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS, PAULINUS NSIRIM HAS URGES MANAGEMENT STAFF OF RIVERS STATE TELEVISION TO GUARD AGAINST ANY FORM OF INFIGHTING AND POWER TUSSLE.

Rivers State Commissioner of Information and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim has urged management staff of Rivers State Television to guard against any form of infighting and power tussle of who to clinch the management position of the station occasioned by the demise of its former General Manager, Pastor Dafini Gogo Abbey.

Paulinus Nsirim who gave the advice when he led principal officers of the Ministry on a condolence visit on the management of Rivers State Television in Port Harcourt said the State Government had not appointed a substantive General Manager of the Television Station.

Describing the demise of the late Dafini Gogo Abbey as a colossal loss to the State and the media industry, he noted that the late General Manager was determined to make an indelible mark in the media industry by according RSTV a new image and identity before her transition to the great beyond.

The State Information and Communications Commissioner appealed to RSTV Management to consolidate on the gains and legacies left behind by the late General Manager by working collectively to build a better Rivers State Television.

Responding on behalf of the management and staff of the television station, the Director Administration, Victor Gorgor said the demise of the former General Manager, Pastor Dafini Gogo Abbey came as a surprise and rude shock to the entire staff of the station.

Gorgor who emphasized that the late Dafini transformed RSTV from analogue to mini-Digital broadcasting before her demise said the management and staff were consoled by the fact that the late General Manager left behind laudable legacies worthy of emulation.

Our correspondent, Francis Golden reports that Paulinus Nsirim, the  Permanent Secretary and Directors of the Ministry also paid a condolence visit to the family of late Pastor Dafini Giogo Abbey.
