As the seven-day ultimatum issued by the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON Rivers State Chapter to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to increase the pace of voters’ registration in the State expired, ALGON has expressed satisfaction with the Commission’s performance in the past one week.
State ALGON Chairman Alwell Ihunda who made this known to Newsmen emphasized the need for eligible voters to register in the ongoing registration exercise to enable them perform their civic duties.
The ALGON Chairman also enjoined INEC to take the exercise to the various wards in the State, especially the server.
Ihundah said already Rivers people had been mobilized by the Councils to ensure that the State benefited maximally from the exercise and urged INEC to always keep the server functional for at least eight hours.
He, however, hinted that if there was any short fall in the exercise the councils would have no other option than to reverse its decision.
