CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF, LIEUTENANT GENERAL FAROUK YAHAYA SAYS COMMANDERS WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ATTACKS ON MILITARY FACILITIES.

Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya has said that Commanders will be held responsible for attacks on Military facilities.

General Yahaya also urged the Commanders to ensure that troops maintain a “State Constant alertness and Vigilance at all times to avoid any surprise attack by the adversary”.

The Chief of Army Staff who spoke at the closing ceremony of the Chief of Army Staff Conference added that laid back attitudes on the part of Commanders would not be tolerated.

He reminded formation and unit Commanders on the need to ensure adequate security of their bases, barracks and cantonment, pointing out that the importance of leadership cannot be overemphasized especially in the military.

General Yahaya said Commanders must also ensure that they remain selfless, build and earn the respect and confidence of their subordinates in order to lead effectively, adding that he has directed that leadership training modules be developed and utilized in all their training institutions to enhance the career and performance of all Nigerian Army Personnel.
