Many Afghan boys have refrained from going to school in solidarity with Afghanistan’s school girls who have not yet been allowed to resume classes.
The report says some boys in Afghanistan stayed back home saying they will not show up at school until schools are open for girls too.
Some teachers in Afghanistan said girls who are low in spirit are still contemplating if they want to resume school.
The new Taliban government permitted high schools to reopen for only boys and male teachers as there was no mention of girls students or women teachers in the education ministry’s announcement declaring resumption of school classes for boys in grades seven to twelve from Saturday.
The United Nations has expressed worries about the future of girls schooling in Afghanistan.
