“GOVERNOR WIKE INAUGURATES IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE ON KELSEY HARRISON HOSPTTAL”

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo has inaugurated implementation committee set up by the State Executive Council to ensure the actualization of its decisions to revitalize the Kelsey Harrison Hospital, the Dental and Maxillofacial Hospital as well as review the agreement between the state government and Ashes to Ashes Mortuary.
The Committee have the State Deputy Governor, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo as Chairman with the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Ndidi Chikanele Uche as Secretary, while the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Zaccheus Adangor, Commissioner for Health, Professor Princewill Chike, Chief Medical Directior, Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Friday Aaron, Chief Medical, Rivers State Management Board, Dr. Kenneth Okagua and the Chairman, Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, Dr. J.N. Hart are members.
Speaking during the Inauguration ceremony, Governor Wike noted that the implementation was based on earlier report made to government on health facilities.
The Governor charged the committee to work assiduously to ensure that the key health facilities are revitalized and handed over to the Rivers State Hospital Management Board and the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital to serve Rivers people.
The Chief Executive also urged them to review the existing operational agreement between the state government and Ashes to Ashes Mortuary as according to him the present sharing ratio of Twenty-Five-Seventy- Five percent is not beneficial to government in view of the facilities it has put in place in the mortuary.
Responding, the Chairman of the committee, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo luaded the State Governor for his commitment to health and welfare to Rivers people and promised to work within the time frame to ensure the the hospitals are revitalized for the overall good of Rivers people.
