Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has reiterated that the victory of thet Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the Edo State Governorship election was a victory for democracy and a defeat of godfatherism in Nigeria politics.

He has also described the victory as a victory for Edo people, the South-South and Nigerians at large.

Governor Wike stated this when h received members of the Wike Solidarity Movement, WSM on a solidarity rally to Government House, Port Harcourt to congratulate him on the victory of the PDP in Edo State election.

The State Chief Executive who spoke through the Chief of Staff, Government House, Port Harcout, Emeka Woke, said he was in Edo State to discharge the party’s assignment which was done effectively and efficiently.

He used the forum to thank Rivers people for their prayers that led to the Edo State victory and urged them to contnue to adhere to all COVID-19 protocols, emphasizing that the pandemic is real and still within the State.

Earlier, the Director General of the Wike Solidarity Movement, Prince Sudor Nwiyor said they were in Government House to thank Governor Wike for his support to Edo people .

He urged the Governor to seek for higher office in the party at the expiration of his tenure in 2023 as he has what it takes, saying that the party and Rivers people are proud of him.

Prince Nwiyor also assured the Governor of the organization continued support to all his political ambiton.
