NEW FLYOVER TO BE CONSRUCTED AT THE KADUNA STREET JUNCTION, PORT HARCOURT.

The Rivers State Executive Council has approved the construction of a new Flyover at the Kaduna Street Junction of Aba Road in Port Harcourt Local Government Area.

It has also approved the award of the contract to Julius Berger Nigeria Plc. The State Commissioner for Works, Eloka Tasie-amadi who disclosed this while briefing Journalists at the end of the emergency State Executive Council Meeting presided over by Governor Nyeson Ezenwo Wike stated that Exco’s decision to expand the two-lane flyover to four-lane was as a result of the bottleneck the flyover would cause in view of the construction of the Rebisi Flyover.

Tasie-Amadi also state that Exco decided to award the flyover which spanned 593meters to Julius Berger Nigeria Plc because of the company’s high track record and competence.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim said the approval demonstrated the commitment of the Urban Renewal Vision of Governor Wike’s administration, saying the flyover will add to the aesthetic beauty of the state and improve economic activities.

He appealed to citizens of the state to shun detractors of who were out to de-market the state and join hands with the Governor Wike’s administration to ensure that the New Rivers Vision blue print of the state as put in place by the administration was achieved.
