KING OF OPOBO LED A COURTESY CALL TO GOVERNOR WIKE

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenyo Wike has reasured the people of Opobo Kingdom of his commitment to ensure that the Opobo axis of the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo-Nkoro Unity Road is completed and inaugurated by December this year.
He has also promised to fufill all promises made to the people of the Kingdom before the end of his administration.
Governor Wike made the assertion when members of the Opobo Kingdom Sesquicentenary Anniversay Committee, led by the Amanyanabo of Opobo, King Dandeson Douglas Jaja, Jeki V paid him a courtesy visit at Government House Port Harcourt.
The Governor, who noted the peaceful disposition of Opobo Kingdom and its supportive role to his administration, stated that he would do everything humanly possible to ensure that it as during his administration that Opobo people drove to their home.
He also assured the people of Opobo Kingdom of his support to ensure the success of their Sesquicentenary Anniversay aimed at protecting the long history of the Kingdom, and particularly lauded the Amanyanabo of Opobo for making Professor Sylvanus John Sodienye Cookey which he described as a renowned historian and fore-most Vice Chancellor of the Universityof Port harcourt who made a mark in the education profession and contributed to the development of the country as Chairman of the Sesquicentenary Anniversay Committee.
Earlier, the Amanyanabo of Opobo, King Dandeson Douglas Jaja, Jeki V said the visit was to acquaint the Governor on the Sesquicentenary Anniversay of Opobo Kingdom as well as invite him to the grand finale of the celebration which would reenact the ceremonial landing of King Jaja of Opobo and his Chiefs on the shore of Opobo Kingdom, 150years ago.
The Opobo Monarch lauded the Governor for his developmental strides spread across the state, particularly Opobo axis of the Opobo axis of the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo-Nkoro Unity Road.
