RIVERS STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL APPROVES OVER N448,6BILLION AS 2021 BUDGET EXTIMATES.

The Rivers State Executive Council has considered the sum N448,600,773,476.00 as budget extimate for the 2021 fiscal year.
The State Commissioner for Finance and Supervisory Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr. Isaac Kamalu stated this on Monday 30th November, 2020 while briefing journalists at the end of the emergency State Executive Council meeting presided over by the Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike at Government House, Port Hacourt.
Mr. Kamalu stated that the amount will assist government to accomplish the various ongoing developmental programmes put in place across the state by the present administration as well as make life more meaningful for the people of the state.
He hinted that Council also considered and approved the Medium Term Expenditure Framework for the state for the year 2021-2023.
Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim said the State Executive Council also approved the sum of N2,747,251,405.13 for the State Independent Electoral Commission to conduct the 2021 Local Government Election.
Paulinus Nsirim added the Council also approved the construction of a motor park near the new Rebisi Flyover at Ogbum-Nu-Abali in line with the Urban Renewal Vision of the State Governor.
He added that government’s decision was to ensure that illegal motor parks around the area does not deface the aesthetic beauty within the new flyover, noting that government is acquiring land around the flyover to build the motor park to enable motorists operate from there and avoid anything that would deface the environment.
