ONE POLICE OFFICER ATTACHED TO BOROKIRI POLICE DIVISIONAL HEADQUARTERS IN PORT HARCOURT WAS KILLED BY UNKNOWN GUNMEN

A gang of unknown gunmen has killed a Police officer attached to Borikiri Police Divisional Headquarters in Port Harcourt.
Reports say two other officers were seriously injured during the attack at Captain Amangala axis of Town.
Rivers State Police Command Spokesman Nnamdi Omoni who confirmed the killing of the Police officer said others sustained gunshot wounds.
He said the Commissioner of Police has ordered an investigation into the matter but did not give identities of the affected Police officers and also dismissed claims that guns were carted away.
Mr. Omoni added that the Police vehicle belonging to the Team was riddled with bullet holes, while the corpse of the late Inspector has been evacuated and deposited in mortuary for autopsy.
He further said the CP has ordered serious manhunt for the perpetrators, with the marching order to all the Tactical Units to identify and apprehend them without delay adding that the area is under close monitoring.
