RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT DENIES SHUTTING DOWN PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS OVER COVID-19

The Rivers State Government has denied reports that it has ordered the closure of Primary and Secondary Schools in the State.
The Commissioner of Education, Professor Kaniye Ebeku in a statement said there was no time Governor Wike ordered the closure of Schools over concerns that there was an upsurge in coronavirus infections in the State.
The Commissioner maintained that the rumour was the handiwork of mischief makers whose intention was to pit the people against the State Government.
Professor Ebeku who stated that the attention of Rivers State Ministry of Education was drawn to the fake news trending on social media, urged the public to treat the rumour as false news.
