RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT HAS WARNED CONTRACTORS AGAINST SUBSTANDARD MATERIALS AS THEY EXECUTE THEIR JOB

The Rivers State Government has warned against execution of government contracts with substandard materials
The Government say it will not condone any further delay in the execution of ongoing schools projects in the state.
Addressing some contractors in his office at the state secretariat in Port Harcourt, state commissioner for Education, Professor Kaniye Ebeku urged the contractors not to cut corners when executing government contracts
The Education commissioner gave the contractors a deadline of March, 2021 for the completion of their various projects, so that they can be commissioned for use
Speaking further Professor Ebeku warned against abandoning government projects despite receiving tranches of the contractual fee, adding that any contractor who tries it will face the wrath of the law.
He vowed that his ministry will actively supervise the execution of ongoing projects to ensure compliance with contractual terms and specifications.
The briefing of contractors was attended by contractors in charge of projects in Bonny Oyigbo and Abua/Odual local government areas.
