NAWOJ RIVERS STATE CHAPTER ELECTS NEW EXECUTIVE TO PILOT ITS AFFAIRS FOR THE NEXT THREE YEARS

The Rivers State Chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ has elected a new executive to pilot its affairs for the next three years with Mrs. Susan Serekara Nwikhana as Chairman

In the election conducted at the NUJ Press Centre in Port Harcourt, Susan Serekara Nwikhana got ninety- two votes to defeat her opponent Mrs. Joy Grant Amadi who recorded forty- six votes

Other officers also elected included Daba Benebo. Vice Chairman, Morrison Doris Tams Secretary, Beauty Nteugot David, Treasurer and Anunsike Prisca Ngozi, Assistance Secretary.

In her acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairperson, Mrs Susan Serekara Nwikhana thanked members for the support given them.

She promised to run an all inclusive government pointing out that every member is needed to move the body forward as she cannot work alone.

Also speaking, NAWOJ Zone F Vice President, Uduak Ikang Obeten-Okon who supervised the election commended the women Journalists for demonstrating maturity and respect for democracy urging them to give the new executive the necessary support.
