DOCTOR SHEDRACK AKALOKWU AND DOCTOR HARCOURT WHYTE SAY PLAN TO BUILD THREE NEW CAMPUSES OF THE RSU IN AHOADA, EMOHUA AND ETCHE WILL EXPAND THE FRONTIERS OF LEARNING AND RESEARCH.

Discussants on Radio Rivers weekly Current affairs programme Spotlight Doctor Shedrack Akalokwu and Doctor Harcourt Whyte say the plan to build three new campuses of the Rivers State University in Ahoada Emohua and Etche will expand the frontiers of learning and research in the task of bringing higher education to the people of the State.
Doctor Shedrack Akalokwu Former for head of Information, Publications, and protocol old RSUST, and the present Public Relation Officer of Rivers State University Doctor Harcourt Whyte stated this while speaking as guests on Radio Rivers weekly Current Affairs programme tagged Spotlight today.
Doctor Shedrack Akalokwu and Doctor Harcourt Whyte emphasized that by the expansion and upgrading of facilities the present administration of Governor Nyesom Wike has laid the solid foundation to take higher education to the rural folk which will in turn bring development to the door steps of rural dwellers in their immediate environment.
Doctor Shedrack Akalokwu, the first Rivers State representative on the board of NDDC listed the names of returned Universities with campuses outside the Country of origin saying that the practice has brought high standard of education to poorer nations without Compromising standard and called for understanding.
According to him, the new campuses particularly the Emuohua campus world serve potentials learners from the Kalabar, Local Government Area While emphasizing that with road network the issue of upland and riverine dichotomy has been addressed.
In his contribution, the present head Public relation of the University Doctor Harcourt Whyte said the University Management was ready and prepared for the expansion and establishment of the three new campuses and paid glowering tributes to the praginatic leadership of the Present Vice Chancellor Professor Nlerum Okogbule in transforming the University for the better.
He disclosed that the University has inaugurated a strategic Development committee to articulate the way forward to advance research in the University and extend same to the proposed New Campuses .
The duo admitted the expansion would go a long way to actualize the vision of the founding fathers to establish campuses outside the main campuses.
