The Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC’s move to impound rickety vehicles plying Nigerian Roads and arrest the drivers has generated mixed reactions from Nigerians.

This followed a directive from the FRSC Corps Marshal, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi to all command officers across all formations of the Corps.

Some motorists and passengers interviewed told our reporter Nnenda Miller that it was a step in the right direction, but appealed to the Federal Government to make alternative provision for drivers.

Other respondents however said if rickety vehicles were impounded it would increase crime rate and cause untold hardship to commuters as fewer commercial vehicles would be on the roads.

The FRSC took the decision to reduce the rate of accidents on the roads as a result of vehicles that are not road worthy plying the road.
