CHIEF CHARLES ALERUCHI IHUNWO WIKE, THE LATE UNCLE TO GOVERNOR WIKE LAID TO REST.

Chief Charles Aleruchi Ihunwo Wike, the late uncle to the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike was yesterday laid to rest at his hometown, Rumuepirikom in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
Chief Ihunwo Wike who passed on at the age of 87, was until his demise, the Eze Epara Kwurume Chukwuokahia Obasinwo IV of Rumuepirikom Clan in Apara Kingdom of Obio-Akpor Local Government Area.
Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and his wife, Justice Suzzette Wike
were joined by several political leaders for the funeral of his late
uncle.
Present at the funeral ceremony were former Governors of Rivers State, Dr Peter
Odili and Sir Celestine Omehia; former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha
and National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince
UcheSecondus.

Other dignitaries in attendance included former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sir Austin Opara; Senator Sam Anyanwu; South-South Zonal Chairman of the PDP, Chief Dan Orbih; Chairman of the PDP in Rivers State , Ambassador Desmond Akawor; Chairman of Rivers Elders Council, High Chief Ferdinand Alabraba; Senator Barry Mpigi and several others.
Speaking during a reception at his residence, Governor Wike thanked friends and well-wishers for their show of friendship and brotherhood at a time his family was grieving over the loss of their uncle.
Governor Wike who noted that his uncle played very positive roles in the development of his community, lauded them for coming to join his family as they bid farewell to their late uncle.
