NIGERIA RECEIVES 3.94 MILLION DOSES OF THE OXFORD ASTRAZENCA COVID-19 VACCINE

Nigeria yesterday received three point nine four million doses of the oxford AstraZeneca COVID 19 vaccine
The vaccine was received through the COVID 19 vaccine Global Assess facility COVAX
COVAX, an initiative co-led by the vaccine Alliance GAVI and the World Health Organization seek to ensure equitable access to a COVID 19 vaccine by dividing about two billion doses across ninety two low-and middle income countries
Nigeria is the third African country to benefit from the COVAX facility after Ghana and Cote D Ivorie.
The COVID 19 vaccine arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja aboard the Boeing 777300 ER aircraft of the Emirates Airline.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation and chairman Presidential Task Force on COVID 19, Boss Mustapha who led the government team to receive the vaccine said the arrival of the AstraZeneca vaccines marked a significant milestone in the national response to the COVID 19 pandemic in Nigeria
