The Rivers State Police command says the report that gunmen who hijacked a bus filled with students have demanded 2 million naira ransom is false.
The spokesperson of the police command Nnamdi Omoni in a statement said preliminary investigation carried out with school authorities revealed that no such thing happened.
Mr. Omoni noted that no parent reported a case of missing person and that the polytechnic in question was on holiday and has resumed school with scanty activities
He said Ogoni communities have enjoyed fragile peace after the arrest and death of the dreaded kidnapper Bobrisky who was declared wanted by the state government with a bounty of twenty million naira
The statement further said that the state police command ordered an investigation into the report.
