Reports that one hundred and one Nigerian Soldiers absconded after recent attacks on Dikwa and Marte Communities by Boko Haram Insurgents is generating mixed reactions.
Some residents of Port Harcourt in an interview with our Correspondent, Nnenda Miller said after the sack of the former Service Chiefs by the Federal Government, Nigerians were expecting security to be beefed up in the country with more sophisticated weapons given to the soldiers but expressed concern that a lot of them were absconding from the war.
They enjoined the government to employ more youths into the armed forces and equip them properly to face the insurgents.
The respondents who also called on the Federal Government to give priority attention to the welfare of the soldiers stressed the need for government to tackle insecurity in the country to give the citizens hope.
They also urged the Federal Government to seek the assistance of mercenaries to end the insurgency in the Country.
