VICE PRESIDENT YEMI OSINBAJO REITERATES CALL FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF STATE POLICE.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has again called for the establishment of State Police as one of the ways of addressing the nation’s security challenges.
He said all Stakeholders must accept the fact that there is a need to decentralize the Police Force.
According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, the Vice President spoke at the opening of an International Conference on Patriotism, Security, Governance and National Development organized by the Global Patriot Newspaper in collaboration with the Nigerian Consulate in New York and Nigeria in Diaspora organization by New Jessey Chapter.
Akande quoted the Vice President as saying that the National Assembly is in a position to consider devolving more powers to the states for security purposes.
