GOVERNOR WIKE BERATES FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OVER INABILITY TO TACKLE SECURITY CHALENGES FACING THE COUNTRY.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has stated that Nigeria was almost on life support due to the inability of the APC-led Federal Government to show capacity in the handling of security challenges facing the country.
Governor Wike made the assertion when the Leadership of Ogoni Ethnic Nationality led by the Gbenemene Tai Kingdom and President, Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers of Ogoni, King G.N.K. Gininwa paid him a Thank You Visit at Government House, Port Harcourt.
The Governor who noted that the country was witnessing series of killings and kidnapping on a daily basis as the APC-Government had failed to protect the lives of the citizenry, urging Nigerians to avoid the mistake of voting APC in 2023 so as to save the country from its present state of insecurity.
Noting that nobody can enslave Rivers State, he assured the people of Ogoni of his administration’s commitment to do everything humanly possible to protect lives and property of Rivers people and solicited their support in terms of intelligence gathering in order to achieve set goals.
Governor Wike thanked the people of Ogoni for the support given him during his political ambition in 2014 till date and urged them to always hold politicians accountable for their promises to the people, saying it is only by so doing that politicians can keep to their social contract with the people by fulfilling their promises.
The Governor who noted that the Saakpenwa-Bori-Kono Road had been used as political gimmick in every election, thanked God for making it possible for him to fulfil his promise to the Ogoni people, promising that he will not fail to support Ogoni people to succeed.
Earlier in an address read by King Samuel Nnee, Gbenemene Tua Tua Tai and Paramount Ruler of Kpite Tai on behalf of the delegation, lauded Governor Wike for the numerous developmental projects and programmes put in place for the benefit of Ogoni people, particularly the Saakpenwa-Bori-Kono Road which had strengthened the economy and commerce of the area as well as other projects in other sectors like education and health.
King Nnee used the forum to commiserate with the Governor over the senseless and unnecessary murder of security agents in the state and pledged the willingness of the people of Ogoni in the area of intelligence gathering to the state government and security agencies to enhance the security architecture of the state to forestall reoccurrence.
He also informed the Governor of the decision of Ogoni people to honour him and showcase their endless appreciation and support for his administration to the whole nation on May 15, 2021 at Bori and formally invited him to the occasion.
