AIGP, USMAN ALKALI BABA DIRECTS OFFICERS AND MEN OF THE NIGERIA POLICE IN THE SOUTH-SOUTH REGION TO TAKE THE WAR TO THE HIDEOUTS OF THE CRIMINALS.

The Acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba has directed officers and men of the Nigeria Police in the South-South Region to take the war to the hideouts of the criminals disturbing their region.
Alkali Baba gave the directive during the official flag-off of the Special Police Unit “Operation Restore Peace” at the Sharks Sports Stadium, Port Harcourt.
He also advised those to serve in the Special Police Unit to be professional in their conduct.
The Acting IGP however called for full support and collaboration of critical stakeholders including other security agencies in the South-South region of the country.
Earlier, the Deputy Inspector General of Police incharge of the operation in the South-South Region, Moses Joseph, promised to deliver on the mandate of the Special Unit.
The Deputy Governor, Dr Ipalibo Harry Banigo who represented Governor Nyesom Wike said the state government would continue to support the police to fight crime in the state.
The event was attended by top government functionaries from the South-South, Senior Police Officers, Traditional and religious leaders among other dignitaries.
