Civil Servants working at the Rivers State Secretariat Complex have expressed joy as the problem of water supply to Ministries, Departments and Agencies is now a thing of the past.
This follows the restoration of water supply facilities at the State Secretariat by the Ministry of Water Resources and Rural Development.
Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja who stated this shortly after inspecting the water facilities at the various blocks in the complex said, the era of Patronizing Water Vendors had come to an end and expressed gratitude to Governor Wike for addressing the water needs of the Civil Servants.
He said Ministries had been Patronizing Water Vendors and the Governor directed that this should stop within thirty days and they had delivered water in the Secretariat.
Dr. Gogo Jaja called on his fellow Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries to complement government’s effort by taking steps to fix any faulty pipes and taps within their offices in order to avoid leakages.
