Re-elected chairman of Akuku Toru Local Government Council Rowland Sekibo has appealed to the Federal Government to restore the Abonnema Sea Port.
Sekibo made the appeal when participants of the Senior Executive Course 43, of 2021 from the National Institute of Policy and strategic studiesKuru took a study tour to Abonnema.
According to him restoring the sea port will boost economic activities in the area. He also appealed that the allocation received by the council be increased.
On his part the Amayanabo of Abonnema King Disreal Gbobo Bobmanuel called on all multinational oil companies to give the needed support to the area adding that security personnel be attached to the office of all Traditional Rulers to enforce the law.
Also speaking the leader of the delegation, Fatal Aremu requested that the state and Federal Government should allow resources to flow to the local government area.
